Academic Activities

Our academic program features age-appropriate activities
centered around the alphabet, numbers, color and shapes. The children work on
alphabet books, puzzles, magnetic letters and play alphabet games. Each week we
concentrate on a different letter as we implement activities and introduce words
which begin with that letter.
Each day, the children rotate around the school's theme rooms
where they complete the day's lessons that include computer time, pre-writing,
pre-math, reading, science and craft.
When working on the alphabet, we schedule such activities as
inviting the SPCA to visit with Animals, baking Banana bread, and Creating
Colorful Cornmeal Collages. During "D" week your child may Dig in the Dirt with toy Dinosaurs,
or Decorate paper Dalmatian Dogs.
This approach changes a passive classroom
atmosphere into a fun experience where your child will learn to enjoy the education
process.
